Confused by high pressure, low pressure, swivel spout, 3/4" and 1/4 turn? Just take a moment to read the advice on this page.
There are various water systems used in the UK. Low pressure systems tend to generate between 0.1 and 0.4 bar pressure. Some of the taps we sell operate at these pressures.
There are various water systems used in the UK. Medium pressure systems tend to generate between 0.5 and 1 bar pressure. Some of the taps we sell operate at these pressures.
There are various water systems used in the UK. High pressure systems tend to generate between 1 and 3 bar pressure. Some of the taps we sell operate at these pressures.
1/4 Turn Valves require only a 90 degree turn to go from the closed position to the open position. Most modern taps employ quarter turn valves over the traditional 10/10 compression valves which require several full turns to fully open.
These are available in both 1/2" and 3/4" sizes.
Traditional 10/10 Compression Valves require several full turns to fully open. These are rarely used in modern taps due to the use of the more favourable 1/4 Turn Valve.
These are available in both 1/2" and 3/4" sizes.
Ceramic Disc Valves are extremely durable. Taps that use the CDVs are more likely to last the full guarantee period.
Cartridge Technology allows easy adjustment of water flow. Moving the lever back controls the flow whilst moving the lever left and right controls the temperature.
British Standard is 180mm between the center of each pillar/leg for bath fillers and bath shower mixers. Pre-cut baths are cut this way to enable the use of all bath shower mixers that comply with the British Standard.
All taps connections are either 1/2" or 3/4". Mono basins come with 1/2" flexi hoses.
These sizes are British Standard. All taps are designed to comply with this standard so are plug and play fitment.
Some taps are designed to allow the spout to swivel. This is useful if you have a small sink that you wish to use for close facial washing. A lot of kitchen taps are designed this way to allow movement of the spout between 2 or 3 areas of the sink.
Water flow through a single outlet. Ideal for use with a fixed riser or a fixed arm with a shower head.
Water flow through two outlets. Ideal for use with a fixed riser, slide rail kit, water jets etc.
Water flow through three outlets. Ideal for use with a fixed riser, slide rail kit, water jets etc.
A basin designed for use with Mono Basin Mixers.
A basin designed for use with Basin Taps.
A Shower Tray that has a low profile. This means the walls are relatively shallow.

Short for British Thermal Unit, British standard unit of energy. One Btu is equal to the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of liquid water by 1 degree Fahrenheit at its maximum density, which occurs at a temperature of 39.1 degrees Fahrenheit / 3.94 degrees Celsius. One Btu is equal to approximately 251.9 calories or 1055 joules.
GROHE CoolTouch technology insulates the tap so well that you can touch it without any risk at all. Even for those little fingers that sometimes touch things they shouldn't. Our engineers have found a solution to childhood curiosity and grown-up absentmindedness.
GROHE ChildLock does not rule out the possibility of scalding from 99°C water, but it does make it practically impossible: for the kettle hot water to flow, you need to first pull and then turn the left handle. The child-friendliness of the fitting has been independently tested and certified.
